Sports Betting Picks, Thursday 9.11.14

I passed on Thursday’s football card.  I bet/released three MLB plays.  They were:

7:05 pm ET
MLB
#915 TAMPA BAY -108
Listed Pitchers
2 Units (Regular-sized bet)

7:05 pm ET
MLB
#916 UNDER 7 -105 Tampa Bay at NY Yankees
Listed Pitchers
2 Units (Regular-sized bet)

8:10 pm ET
MLB
#910 MILWAUKEE -150
Listed Pitchers
2 Units (Regular-sized bet)

Results: 1-2 (Lost 2.26 Units)

Recap: I’m still stunned about how this night changed in a heartbeat.  The Rays took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 8th inning with Alex Cobb tossing a no-hitter for 7 1/3 innings.  Tampa took a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the 9th & we were looking good for the side/total sweep.  But it all changed on one pitch to Chris Young with one out.  Young’s three-run bomb gave the Yankees an improbable 5-4 win, ruining our side & Under wagers all on the same swing.  Luckily, the Brewers hung on for a 4-2 win over Miami, salvaging a win on what most times would’ve been a 3-0 night.

I wasn’t home at the time of “the swing,” but I vividly remember how absolutely stunned I was when I pulled my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 out of my pocket & saw a 5-4 final.  There are always going to be games that get away from us late, one way or another.  There will also be games that go our way at the end and we steal a win when we really should’ve lost.  The trick is to not get too high or low when things like this happen.  This one will certainly sting for a while, but I have no choice (if I want to win today) but to put my head down and go right back to capping the next day’s card.
