MLB home plate umpire report

REMINDER: THE UMPIRE REPORT SHOULD ONLY BE A SMALL PART OF YOUR MLB HANDICAPPING PROCESS. NEVER BET SOLELY BASED ON ANY ONE TREND, STAT, ETC.

Pirates at Braves (Tripp Gibson III): Gibby shows a decent UNDER bias overall.  The UNDER is 2-1 in his three games behind home plate at SunTrust Park, and both Unders had Julio Teheran on the mound for the Braves.

Mariners at Twins (Bruce Dreckman): Dreckman has shown a slight OVER bias overall.  The OVER is 9-8-1 in his 18 career games calling balls & strikes at Target Field, including 9-3-1 since 2009.

Blue Jays at Orioles (Mark Wegner): Wegner shows one of the strongest overall OVER biases of all MLB umpires.  The OVER is 9-6-1 in his 16 career games behind the plate at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Rangers at Red Sox (Jordan Baker): Conflicting data here.  Baker shows a solid OVER bias overall, BUT the UNDER is 5-1 in his six career games calling balls & strikes at Fenway Park.  However, the one OVER was with David Price on the mound.

Tigers at Royals (Alan Porter): The less famous AP shows a solid OVER bias overall.  But, more conflicting data here.  The UNDER is 4-1 in his five career games behind the plate at Kauffman Stadium.  However, all four Under were from 2011-2013.  The lone OVER occurred in 2017.

All other games today are the first games in their respective series.  So, home plate umpires for those games will not be announced until shortly before game time.
