Here was my only bet on Tuesday.

MLB

#904 UNDER 7 -120 Atlanta at Washington

Listed Pitchers

2 Units (Regular-sized bet)

  • Two very solid starting pitchers (Santana & Zimmermann)
  • Two very solid bullpens
  • Two teams that have not been scoring an abundance of runs lately
  • Wind blowing in
  • Under umpire behind the plate

Result: Lost 2.4 Units

Recap: This one had no chance.  Braves hurler Ervin Santana gave up four runs in the first inning and it easily could’ve been worse.  And I knew the onslaught wasn’t over because I knew the Braves were going to leave him in longer in an effort to not tax the bullpen.

Sure enough, Santana worked (or maybe “labored” is the better word) five innings, allowing six runs (five earned).

There were 16 hits in the game, so it’s not like either team was raking the ball.  But Santana also walked four batters, which never helps an Under bet.  The game ended with 10 total runs, but three were unearned.  And that was the difference between a loss and a push.
