Basketball Picks Recap 12.04.14

Split a pair of 2-Unit basketball picks on Thursday night. Below are the basketball picks with my analysis, as they appeared on the Members page & in the email that is sent to clients.

7:00 pm ET
NCAA Basketball
#508 WEST VIRGINIA -10
2 Units

BOTTOM LINE: Looking at the school names, most would think that this it too many points for WVU to be laying. But this is LSU’s first true road game and by far their toughest challenge of the young season. The Mountaineers are scoring over 80 points a game & I expect them to be too much for the Tigers. Some RLM (Reverse Line Movement) here, too. 66% of over 7400 reported bets have come in on LSU, yet the line has moved at least 1.5 points in the Mountaineers’ direction. I don’t always, but this time I agree with the move. I have WEST VIRGINIA by 14.

10:35 pm ET
NBA
#506 GOLDEN STATE -8.5
2 Units

BOTTOM LINE: Love how this game sets up. New Orleans is coming off an 8-point home win over an Oklahoma City team that got Kevin Durant back on the floor. They were supposed to lose that game with Durant back, but they pulled the upset as 3.5-point dogs. Also on Tuesday night, the Warriors barely escaped with a 1-point win as 14.5-point home chalk against lowly Orlando. It took a go-ahead 3-pointer in transition from Stephen Curry with just seconds left to avoid the huge upset. So don’t expect them to take these Pelicans lightly tonight. New Orleans lost Eric Gordon to a shoulder injury and are faced with a huge disadvantage at point guard with Austin Rivers opposing Stephen Curry. After Tuesday’s scare, I expect the Warriors to keep the hammer down for the full 48 minutes and leave nothing to chance. GOLDEN STATE by 12.
